Camp Esther K. Newman

Today I dropped Emma off for a DECA retreat. Little did I know that the location used to be the camp I attended in the late 60s! What was once Camp Esther K. Newman is now Platte River State Park!

I was a counsellor at Esther K Newman the summer of 1974 - one of three Aussies who came over. As you are a former attendee why not come over and say hello on facebook at the Esther K Newman Alumni group site - http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=28663802852.

Cheers.

Dani

P.S. and if you know of anyone else who was at Esther K, ask them to drop by also.

I still remember Sherman and all the fun at the camp. Many years there. The BOND Family and all their kids. Horseback riding and lots of big bonfires.

It was a part of our lives

I worked on the maintenance crew of the camp for the summer in 1965. I cleaned toilets, ran a tractor, and washed dishes. What a great experience for a 15=year-old. Rabbi Lear was wonderful. The rest of the camp leadership?,...not so much.
